Manchester City have completed the acquisition of Wolverhampton Wanderers full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri in a deal worth £31 million, with the potential to rise to £36.3 million through performance-related clauses.
The Algeria international, aged 24, has committed his future to the Etihad Stadium until summer 2030 following the completion of his medical and finalisation of personal terms. The defender becomes immediately eligible for City's Club World Cup squad as Pep Guardiola's side prepare for their opening fixture against Morocco's Wydad Athletic Club on 18 June.
Ait-Nouri's journey to Manchester represents a profitable venture for Wolves, who initially secured his services from French outfit Angers for £14.9 million in 2021. The move followed a successful loan spell at Molineux during the 2020-21 campaign, where he impressed sufficiently to warrant a permanent transfer.
The versatile full-back proved instrumental in Wolves' Premier League survival last season, featuring in 41 matches across all competitions whilst contributing five goals and seven assists. His attacking output from defence caught the attention of City's recruitment team as they sought to bolster their squad depth ahead of an intensive period of fixtures.
Under the terms of the transfer agreement, Angers stand to benefit significantly from their former player's progression, with a 50 per cent sell-on clause ensuring the French club receive approximately £9.7 million from the transaction.
